John Schrowang is the President of Red Elephant Pizza, LLC. Along with the creation and management of the Tallahassee Restaurants, Mr. Schrowang is also responsible for overseeing menu and recipe development, management development, and operations of the Red Elephant Pizza and Grill restaurants.
Prior to founding Red Elephant, Mr. Schrowang was the Proprietor of Outback Steakhouse in Tallahassee, Florida from 1994 to 2005. During his tenure, his restaurant earned the Top 20 Company Sales Award. Mr. Schrowang received the Proprietor of the Year Award five out of ten years with financial results in the top 10 out of 750 Outback restaurants.
Mr. Schrowang is a graduate of Florida State University and resides in Tallahassee, Florida. He has served on the board of the Florida Restaurant Association and is a founding board member of Young Life of Tallahassee, a Christian-based organization for teens. Mr. Schrowang has been involved in and supported numerous philanthropies and projects for many years and has a strong reputation for giving back to the community. He and his wife, Melanie, have been married for 19 years and have four children.
Carl W. Sahlsten is the Vice President of Red Elephant Pizza and has been involved in the restaurant industry for 20 years. He is responsible for overseeing the growth of Red Elephant. Prior to Red Elephant, Mr. Sahlsten was Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Development for Outback Steakhouse, Inc. His responsibilities included managing the acquisition and development of over 100 restaurant locations a year for all Outback Steakhouse concepts including Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, LeeRoy Selmon’s, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, Roy’s, and Cheeseburger in Paradise. Prior to heading up Real Estate and Development, Mr. Sahlsten served as the President of Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Inc. He oversaw all aspects of the company including the growth of the concept from 6 to 70 restaurant locations across the country.
Mr. Sahlsten is a graduate of the University of Florida and resides in Odessa, Florida. He has been married to his wife, Julie, for 20 years, and they have two children.
